A Light in Dark's Heart
by Mary Lee
Who is she that betwixts my tortured soul?
A restless spirit none the less she must be,
Searching everywhere with warm eyes of coal.
I wonder and ponder, just what is she?
As I watch her each and everyday. I can,
I know that I cannot keep her forever,
For a force will split us apart, a ban.
Daughter of light and son of dark joined? Never!
I wait for the day when she will go away,
To leave me alone in this place called home.
My heart will rip, tear, and silently say,
"Always, forever, alone I will roam."
But until that solemn and saddened day,
Many moments by her side I shall stay.
