Cassandra Liu

I am a parrot,
and my name is Republican Reebu,
I live in a cage,
in the back of the zoo,
Another parrot is with me,
in the back of the zoo,
her name is that of,
one "Cassandra Liu,"
People have tried to breed us,
and only us two,
but because of budget cuts,
we're the only ones left in the zoo,
They threaten to sell us off,
if we cannot breed like others do,
I believe they will do so,
in this cash strapped zoo,
When I try to make a move,
all she says is "shoo",
she wants someone better than me,
but there's no one else at the zoo,
But I feel love for this parrot,
whom they named Cassandra Liu,
who stands out like a pink elephant,
in this horrid little zoo,
If I don't force myself on her,
then I will be blue,
because they will take us out,
of our cage in the zoo,
But if I do that, she won't speak to me,
but that won't be anything new,
we hardly spoke to each other,
in the year we've been in the zoo,
But the love I feel for her,
is totally, undoubtably true,
so I can never do something like that,
to the angel Cassandra Liu,
So I think to myself,
hey, "Republican Reebu",
you force her, you lose her, you do nothing you lose her,
I'm stuck in a catch-22,
But there must be something else,
something else I can do,
to keep Cassandra Liu and I,
both together in the zoo,
I love her so much,
more than any bird I ever knew,
but even I feel I'm not good enough,
for the angel in disguise; Cassandra Liu,
The day finally came,
and then I really knew,
that Cassandra Liu and I,
would depart from this zoo,
But with my head I pounded the cage,
and you know what, I broke through,
I asked her to fly away with me,
but this she would not do,
She looked straight at me,
just for a second or two,
but then she turned away,
and at that point I knew,
I was just watching her lovely wings,
as she got up and flew,
and to this day I don't know where she went,
I don't have a clue,
But I won't ever forget her,
my dear Cassandra Liu,
the one who I fell in love with,
in the cage in the zoo.
