HOW I MET ANNIE STORY

AS TOLD BY DAVID NINOMIYA

I met her on ICQ Random Chat.  Her first words to me on September 19, 1999 at 2:24PM Hawaii time were:

hey boy
sup?

After a few minutes or so, I was about to give up talking to her.  It's not that she was a bad person or uninteresting, but like I've met a lot of people on ICQ Random Chat who started out interesting, but turned out bad.  Only a handful of the people I met were still interesting in the long term.  Plus I just got through talking to some really boring people the other day on ICQ, making me rather cynical as to whether this girl Annie would last.  Besides, she used profanity a lot, and I won't even go into how bad her spelling, slang, and punctuation were.  However, at this very moment, as I'm about to turn off my ICQ and do something else, she requests my authorization to be added to her list.  I was hesitant, but decide, why not?  It turned out to be a wise decision, and rather than do something else, I think we talked for like 3 hours after that.

Anyway, that's the story.  Sometimes she would be busy doing something, and rather than have a fast paced conversation, she would say something like "tell me a story".  I did that a bunch of times, and I think because of that, I got a lot better at telling stories.  Anyway, this section of my page is dedicated to her, since she got me started with story telling.  So yeah, thanks Annie.  =)
