HOW I MET JULIE STORY

AS TOLD BY DAVID NINOMIYA

I had four classes in the Fall 2000 semester, finance, programming, statistics, and MIS.  In my finance class, I usually sat in the back of the class, on the right side of the room.  Julie sat in the general area of the right side of the room, and a bunch of times I would be sitting next to her.

The logical thing for me to do would be to introduce myself to her because she looked kind of familiar, though I couldn't place her.  One day, I start talking to her with something like "hey, you look familiar, do I know you from somewhere?".  She tells me that yeah, last year we had accounting together.  I usually sat next to my friend Lauri, so I was pretty oblivious to everyone else in the room, even though there were only like a dozen other students in the class.

Anyway, I'm feeling kinda bad that I didn't recognize/remember her from last year.  The next day sucked ever more because when I went to my programming class, I saw Julie again.  She was sitting right behind me, which come to find out, is where she always sits.  Sheesh.

Of course that was nothing compared to the fact that I saw her again an hour later in my statistics class.  This time I found out she normally sits right in front of me.  She was in three of my four classes, always sat within one row of me, and I never noticed for a whole month.  She was a good sport about my mental oversight, and to this day we're pretty good friends and help each other in our classes.
